Well its me again! I know I have been bad at posting, and really I don't have a god reason so i will avoid that subject all together... and move on! :)
Things have been good in AZ, I finally understand why people live here during the summer! It is amazing to have 70 degree weather in January. You can definitely tell that i am from Oregon, we haven't turned the heat on for the entire winter.. (if you can call it that) It does get a little chilly, but Kyle and put a blanket on our laps and make the best of it.
One thing that Kyle and I have been trying to be better about is exploring what Arizona has to offer, and its great. For probably the last month or so we have gone on a hike during the weekend and really enjoyed getting out and exploring. I really will miss the cacti when we move back! Here are a few pics from our last hike - it is just a half hour drive from my house and it was a 7.5 mile loop. Way fun! In the pics with us is our good friend Kristina!
Other than getting out things are pretty good. I am currently working as an academic advisor for the WP Carey Marketing Program at ASU and really enjoy my job. Its a lot of fun, and i really do like all of my co-workers. One big scary thing is that with the shitty economic situation like everywhere ... ASU is facing huge budget cuts and there have been lots of layoffs, and combining of schools. At this point I am very glad to be working at the Business school, and not in a less self sustaining program. I think... key word think that my job is safe until June 30. I believe this because the president of the university has required all employees to take a furlough. I didn't have a clue until i got it... so the jist is that every employee at the university will be required to take 10 - 15 days off between now and June 30th unpaid! Its not the end of the world, but its not good news either! I am trying to decide if i should take a day here and there... or come home for spring break. I have requested to take my days during spring break and will see what happens. I really should be saving money, so that if something were to happen i would have some additional savings. I'm still deciding, but it does sound like a good time to come home.... i do miss everyone and i could try to be good and not spend money while i am back... I should know if i will be giving spring break off and if i am i will be making my decision on if i will be coming home! Its not a perfect situation, but at least an opportunity to catch up with all my family and friends.
Hope everyone else is fairing the economic slowdown ok! Its a difficult time to be in the workforce with so much uncertainty. Love and miss you all... my devoted following of probably... two readers! I will try to be better, and also post more pics from my adventures in AZ.
